Hare Krsna. This is a revised edition of a monograph written in 1995 as part of the centennial celebrations of 1996 for the 100th appearance day of Srila Prabhupada. At that time a controversy had arisen because a disciple of Srila Prabhupada had changed the birth time that Srila Prabhupada had himself given and claimed Prabhupada had a different Lagna, changing his horoscope completely. This paper is a response to that as will be explained later in more detail . This revision contains important new information that came to light in the intervening years since 1995. And, since this is a web page I was also able to add a lot more information such as links to images of charts, linking different topics, and recordings, etc. that would not have been possible in 1995.
I started this project of publishing this book-length monograph to the web at the beginning of 2014 thinking it would be a simple task of “copy and paste” but after two months I still had a long ways to go and lost enthusiasm. Since then I would spend some time off and on working on it but much was left undone. Finally in 2018 I decided to finish off some projects that were lying around and this was first on the list. Again, I thought it would not take long when I started in July 2018 but I was wrong. It has taken most of my time for the last seven months until I finally completed it on, Krsna Pratipada, Narayana Masa, Gaurabda 532 – January 22, 2019.
I would especially like to thank Sriman Harakumara Prabhu ACBSP for diligently proof reading it and pointing out many errors in need of correction. Also, the valuable suggestions of Sriman Bahusira Prabhu ACBSP, Sriman Narottama Prabhu KKS and Sriman Gaurnatraj Prabhu BRS.
This document is for anyone interested in the life of Srila Prabhupada as it contains many previously unheard of anecdotes. But, it will be especially of interest to those who are students of astrology as it contains a trove of information no matter what level you may be at. But you do not have to be an astrologer to appreciate it because while it is a detailed analysis of Srila Prabhupada’s chart non-astrologers have told me that it was accessible to them and they could understand it. One wrote: “Though I have no knowledge of Astrology, I found your evidence very convincing.”
Update 2019. Vital New Evidence that conclusively proves that Srila Prabhupada was born on or shortly after 4:00PM and that he has a Makara Lagna and not a Dhanus Lagna.

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, who is very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa on this earth, having taken shelter at His lotus feet. Our respectful obeisances are unto you, O spiritual master, servant of Sarasvatī Gosvāmī. You are kindly preaching the message of Lord Caitanyadeva and delivering the Western countries, which are filled with impersonalism and voidism.
The excellent science of astronomy-astrology comprising of Siddhanta, Samhita and Hora as its three branches, is the clear ‘eye’ of the Vedas. Narada Samhita 1.4
There are other Vedic literatures, called kala-vidya, which give instructions in material arts and sciences. Since all such Vedic arts and sciences are ultimately intended to be used to render devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kesava, saintly persons in the renounced order of life should never blaspheme such apparently mundane literatures; because such literatures are indirectly connected with the Supreme Lord, one may go to hell for blaspheming these secondary literatures. Brahmanda Purana quoted in Srimad Bhagavatam 11.3.26 purport
Fast Track
For those pressed for time, I would suggest reading: Introduction, Chapter 1, sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.8.2, 4.3, 6.1-3; Chapter 7, and the general conclusion at the very end. (Since most GBC members are not conversant with Vedic astrology Chapter 7 is especially important because it gives the unbiased conclusions of seven other astrologers who have read both presentations. These should be taken as expert witnesses.) In between one will find essays of a more or less technical nature depending on the reader’s familiarity with astrological discourse as well as documented evidence and testimony bearing on the case at hand. The headlines give an indication of the subject matter. One can simply skim these, picking out those of interest. We would like to note that much of the material in this paper is a response to the Purvapaksha so it is imperative that it be read.
If you new to astrology or unfamiliar with Sanskrit names for the Planets and Signs of the zodiac or the glyphs representing them, then before continuing you may want to down load this pdf which gives the Western name plus the glyph and Sanskrit name.
